We chose to attempt a link up of North Peak and Conness on the only stormy weekend in Tuolumne this season. Here's John Vallejo pushing his luck atop the first summit on Conness, moments before a hasty retreat in the wind and rain.

Unlawful Assembly, Oakland
An LA jury finds the former BART police officer, Johannes Mehserle guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the January 2009 death of Oscar Grant. John Vallejo and I arrive as crowds gather at Frank Ogawa Plaza, 14th and Broadway. Sporadic violence ensues as OPD declares an unlawful assembly.

Way Lake, Mammoth Lakes
