Five Bridges Road, Bishop
If you're in Bishop this month, keep an eye out for this family of Desert Great Horned Owls. They're nested in the plant formerly known as Desert Aggregates on the way to the Tablelands.

Trestle Glen, Oakland
I happened upon this scene a few blocks from my apartment. The neighborhood was still, houses unlit, except for this tiny attic window. All you could hear was this woman's screams of anger and sadness, and the occasional car passing by.
